0:00 to 0:35
And so I was there at my kitchen bench and anyone here has been a dancer or done ballet or anything like that, you would have known about a ballet bar. And so this day I went, okay, I put my hands on the kitchen bench like I was back at my ballet bar because I was pretty desperate at this point to do something.
0:35 to 1:08
And I turned out my feet and I cannot believe telling you now how hard this was to get myself to do a plie, very, very small, but it was enough to bring me back to that kitchen bench the next day. Well done, thank you so much. There's even coming now, that one in a moment. The next one we have here is attitude. You don't want to let it out in that high intensity way. You're looking for something that calms your parasympathetic nervous system a bit more.
1:08 to 1:44
Other times where I do a pirouette or a high kick, it's just that moment where the ship decides to rock. High five. Okay, okay. Graham, I don't have time to do anything. I'm not inspired to do any of my yoga. All you need to do right now is just two minutes of that yoga and you're going to feel better. So there I was at this rock bottom time and I finally got myself to go and see my doctor.
1:44 to 2:17
And it took me way too long. I felt way too ashamed. And so when I saw her, she said to me, what you're experiencing is postnatal depression. She said, you know, I want you to hear these words. And they're words that you might need to hear as well. I'm sure you've heard it before. I heard it yesterday. You would have heard it. But sometimes we need to really hear it. She said to me, when you get on a plane and they tell you in an emergency to put your oxygen mask on first before assisting others.
2:17 to 2:51
That's what you have to do. This is an emergency. It can be a little bit harder to do for some of us, some of us. So you can see it. You are going to say that nice thing that you have written down about yourself. These small things really do matter. And they can lead you to somewhere that right now might feel beyond imagining. Take that first plie that I did there. That first plie, that two minute moment had led me to that precious moment.
2:51 to 3:16
It led me to doing the work that I do. And it led me to being here in front of you all, which I'm so, so grateful for. And if I can do that, you can all do it, too. Because all you need is two minutes. Everybody here in this room can do two minutes. All right. Thank you all so much.
